It's National Women's History Month!

Before the 19th century women didn't have the power to vote. They had no voice, no representation, no respect. In 1978, California Senator Dianne Feinstein was elected Mayor of San Francisco, the first woman to hold public office . Last year Hilary Clinton became the first woman to run for President. Today an African American First Lady, Michelle Obama, is living in the White House, more small businesses are run by women, and more women are becoming the sole breadwinner of the household as their husbands get laid off. It'll be interesting to see how the family/marriage dynamic has changed (for better or worse) as a result of the role reversal, but will save that for another post. Can you the feel energy, buzz and excitement? Forget New Years, Merry Xmas, and Y2K. From main street and church pews to television and social networking sites, people of all ages are talking, texting, and blogging about Barack Obama, his family, their new dog, their daughtersā€™ new school, inauguration parties, the transition of power, to name just a few. Publishers are embracing him in the super hero world as he graces the cover of Marvelā€™s ā€œAmazing Spiderman #583ā€ comic book which was released yesterday. According to Marvelā€™s website, their first two printings are SOLD OUT and are printing a third release due to the insatiable demand. Hurry up and place that order! Of course the first one is the ultimate eye on the collectorā€™s edition prize.
