  The Mindset of Effective Outbound Sales Prospecting Building Your Business If thereā€™s anything that my background as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at successful  S V startups has taught me is that no matter how many tips and tricks you read online on finding and connecting with customer prospects, itā€™s null and void if you donā€™t have the attitude of purpose. Trying to convince a prospect to accept a discovery call or product demo is the mindset of the job role, but approaching it with an underlying belief and commitment to succeed speaks volumes. I recently discovered that there are actually two types, fixed mindset and growth mindset. A fixed mindset believes certain traits are set in stone with little to no room for personal improvement and growth. Iā€™m referring to the growth mindset.
